Darkness Calling
(A/N: Just something I wrote for fun. The prologue will be a little slow but it’s all build up to the more exciting events later on that will include all kinds of Marceline/Bubblegum and Adventure Time goodness. Stick with me peeps, it’s gonna be a wild ride.)
Dedication: This story is dedicated to the lovely Bainaku (Summerlightning)
Prologue:
The lone light of a candle flickered against the crumbling stone walls of the ancient tomb, illuminating the moss that clung to the walls as thickly as curtains. Occasionally the light would wobble uncertainly in the hands of its shifty owner only to be righted in the next instant in a renewal of purpose. The cavern was unnervingly silent, save the resounding echo of footsteps coming from the unseemly duo cautiously winding down the crumbling pathways. An elf, so scrawny that his bones just barely shone from underneath his emerald skin, let out a pathetic whimper as he gazed down into the chasm that lined either side of the small passage. It looked to him the gaping jaws of a great monster, the jagged rocks at the bottom serving convincingly as a line of pointed teeth. His small stature only accentuated the sharp risk posed by such a fall into the unknown.
